DISCOVERING CALACATTA MARBLE

Calacatta marble is a rare, exceptional marble that can only be found in one place in the world — the quarries in the mountains of Carrara, Italy. Because of it Calcatta marble is often mistaken for Carrara marble. However, to the trained eye these stones couldn’t be farther apart from each other.

Calacatta marble features an elegant and bold veining pattern in a variety of colors, anything from beige to regal gold and a much whiter background color compared to Carrara. The pattern creates a memorable and striking appearance over the marble slabs. The rich white and gold details make Caltcatta marble one of the rarest stones in the world. It is mostly associated with high-end luxury and therefore used for high-budget projects and placed in interior applications where it is very visible.

If you are thinking of incorporating Calcatta marble into your home we recommend you do so for the construction of a luxurious bathroom, the stone will be perfect to create your own little oasis and allure that feeling of grandeur. It is also great to highlight a kitchen, we particularly love it for a backsplash. If you choose to use this stone for a countertop be careful and seal them regularly as they are porous and a bit more sensitive that other types of marble.  For that going all out style, Calcatta is a great choice for a foyer or if your budget allows it even flooring.

Calcatta is a great choice for commercial projects as well. Think about applications on offices and executive boardrooms.
