IS PORCELAIN THE FUTURE OF HIGH-END INTERIOR DESIGN?

When building or renovating a home, the selection of quality materials becomes a priority. For the past couple of decades, natural stones have taken the lead because of their ability to add value to a property while creating aesthetically beautiful spaces. Since the pandemic started, a new luxury-looking material has been taking the spotlight when it comes to high-end home interiors: porcelain.

Porcelain is a type of ceramic made from refined clay, molded and pressed into a desired shape, and then baked at a high temperature to harden. It is a very diverse material that can be made to look like marble, granite, slate, hardwoods, limestone, or other natural materials.

But the question here lies in understanding why porcelain is becoming increasingly more popular amongst designers and homeowners? The answer is simple: it is easier to care for, more hygienic,  resilient, and slightly more affordable than stones like marble.

To simplify it, porcelain slabs are suitable for direct contact with food, meaning they are stain-proof, mold-proof, and easy to clean. Additionally, porcelain is not affected by high temperatures, it is scratch resistant and waterproof. This means porcelain slabs can be applied anywhere in a home, from floorings to, kitchen counters, and vanity tops, among many others.

Porcelain is also available in a wide variety of colors, textures and forms allowing you to create any space imaginable while taking your home to a new level.
